Jacob said to his household, "Put away the foreign gods that are
among you, and purify yourselves." Genesis 35:2

Now the Passover of the Jews was near, and many went up from the
country to Jerusalem before the Passover to purify themselves.
John 11:55

Holy God, we are inclined to make idols of our wealth, our
schedules, our comfort. Forgive us; purify our lives and our
worship. Grant us unaltered love and unlimited trust in our
Savior, Jesus Christ. We pray in his name. Amen.
